GUJRANWALA: An eight-year-old boy was murdered after being subjected to sexual abuse in Kamoke, Gujranwala district, ARY News reported.
According to the local police, the minor boy was strangulated to death before being sexually abused by his murderer.
The police said the suspected murderer of the boy was taken into custody and further investigation into the case was underway.
A medical examination of the victim confirmed that the minor was sexually assaulted before he was murdered.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and ordered RPO Gujranwala to carry out a thorough investigation into it.
He said he would ensure that the culprits behind the murder and sexual abuse of the child are brought to justice.
A large number of the cases of child sexual abuse have come to the fore after the brutal rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab in Kasur, which caused a widespread outrage in the country.
The minor girl was abducted on January 4 from Kasur’s Kot Road area. Five days after her disappearance, she was found raped, dead and buried in a garbage dump on Jan 09.
